Founded in 1977, TRM Architect is a Western New York architecture and engineering firm with strong local ties and a broad spectrum of clients. As strategic partners and collaborators, we are committed to creative, buildable and sustainable designs, high standards of technical accuracy, and accountability to budget. We work in five sectors, with prototypes and rollouts for national brands alongside award-winning preservation work at home in Buffalo.

Residential · Adaptive re-use of an 1822 church
An 1822 church turned into eleven apartments, no two alike, with sleeping lofts that look out over the stained glass.
Academic · Contemporary art museum
A marble-clad museum with twelve white columns, delivered within a school year, using a honeycomb-backed veneer built for freeze–thaw winters.
Restaurants, sports bars and entertainment venues for national brands, from Las Vegas to Barbados.
Supermarkets, convenience stores, retail and workplaces, including prototypes and multi-site rollouts.
Libraries, arenas, pools, galleries and classrooms for school districts, colleges and universities.
Hospital wards, clinics and medical offices, including term contracts with the VA.
Adaptive re-use, multi-family conversions and private homes, many in Buffalo’s historic districts.
The firm
Thomas R. Moscati founded TRM in the Ellicott Square Building in 1977. Since 1999 we have worked from 448 Delaware, which we restored down to its Corinthian capitals and which won a City of Buffalo Preservation Board award in 2002. Matthew P. Moscati, AIA, leads the firm today.
