591 Delaware Avenue

TRM designed the reconstruction of the fire-scarred Bryant Mansion at 591 Delaware Avenue. While preserving and restoring the historical exterior structure, TRM integrated the latest sustainable design concepts, following LEED guidelines, that utilize energy efficient systems, environmental resources, and recycled materials. The interior layout accommodates a mixed-use office/residential concept. TRM worked closely with City of Buffalo officials to facilitate selective demolition permits, planning review, historical board approvals, as well as building permit acquisition.

The scope of the project was the interior reconstruction and exterior renovation of the structure. Located within the Allentown Historical District and built in the late 19th century, 591 Delaware is integral to one of Buffalo’s most important urban neighborhoods as it combines much of Buffalo’s rich history with signs of the City’s resurgence in both business and residential development. Sustainable design features include: recycled brick masonry, carpets with recycled content, renewable flooring including bamboo and cork, utilizing ultrasonic humidifiers and water reduction systems.

Specific techniques used to maintain control of the schedule, costs and project quality for Trinity 591 involved establishing clear and collaborative project schedules with design team members. The result of such planning is an aesthetically pleasing, energy efficient building.
